ACTION ALERT: Support Senator Kennedy's Bill to Stop the Escalation

Senator Kennedy is announcing today his next move to stop Bush's ill-fated "surge" into Iraq:

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

Section 1. Prohibition on use of funds for escalation of United States forces in Iraq.

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no Federal funds may be obligated or expended by the United States Government to increase the number of United States forces in Iraq above the level for such forces which existed as of January 1, 2007, without a specific authorization of Congress by law for such an increase.

20,000 more troops in Iraq won't "save" this war...
Nothing will.

It's time for us to stop fanning the flames of further violence and chaos in Iraq. I definitely support this legislation! Hopefully, this is only the beginning of a larger effort to end this illegal and immoral war, and to bring our brave troops home.

I just hope that the 110th Congress will do whatever you can to do what the American people are asking, and:
