My Official Thank You to Loretta Sanchez

Here's the letter that I just wrote to Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Garden Grove), thanking her for voting against the Iraq Supplemental Spending Bill:

Thank you, Congresswoman Sanchez, for voting against the defense supplemental spending bill that authorizes George W. Bush to continue his failed war in Iraq. As someone who lives here in Orange County and who has friends who recently returned from Iraq, I very much appreciate your commitment to REAL support for our troops.

If Bush and the Republicans truly support the troops, they would not block the efforts of the Democratic Congress to bring them home safely and soon. I'm glad that you and most other Democrats see that. I just hope that when Bush comes back to Congress for more money for Iraq in September, that your Republican colleagues in Washington stop thwarting the will of American people, and they start doing what's really best for the troops and for this nation. This war must end.

Thank you, Congresswoman Sanchez, for your tireless advocacy for our troops. And thank you so much for all you recent votes to end this failed war and bungled occupation in Iraq. I'm glad that we in Orange County can truly count on you to do what's best for our troops and our community.

If you're also a voter in California's 47th Congressional District, write a letter to Loretta thanking her for her vote. If you're not in the 47th, go here to write your Representative. And if you don't know how your member voted on this bill, here's the Roll Call vote. make sure that your voice is heard.
